How to get to our meetings
The Brentwood Community Center is at 2505 S. Brentwood Boulevard, just south of Litzsinger Road.
From southbound I-170: To avoid construction delays on I-64, take the Forest Park Parkway exit. Go east a short distance to the Brentwood Boulevard exit, and turn right. Proceed south on Brentwood about 2 miles, passing Clayton Road and the Galleria (on your right) and then Eager Road and the Promenade (on your left). Just beyond the Walgreen's on the corner of Litzsinger Road, turn right into the Community Center parking lot.
From eastbound I-64/US 40: Take the Brentwood Boulevard exit. Go south on Brentwood Boulevard, past the Promenade (on your left) about a mile. Just beyond the Walgreen's on the corner of Litzsinger Road, turn right into the Community Center parking lot.
From westbound I-64/US 40: Take the I-170 exit. Stay in the right-hand lane and immediately take the Galleria Parkway exit. At Brentwood Boulevard, turn left. Go south on Brentwood, past Eager Road and the Promenade (on your left), about a mile. Just beyond the Walgreen's on the corner of Litzsinger Road, turn right into the Community Center parking lot.
From eastbound I-44: Take the Laclede Station/Murdoch Avenue exit. Turn left into northbound Laclede Station Road and go straight on about a mile and a half. (Note that just past Deer Creek shopping center Laclede Station becomes Hanley Road.) At Manchester Road turn left and go about a mile west to Brentwood Boulevard. Turn right and go two blocks north. The Community Center is on your left, just past the Eagle Bank, across from Radio Shack.
Getting to AAStL meetings via MetroLink has never been easier. The Brentwood I-64 station, two stops past Clayton on the new Shrewsbury line, is on Eager Road between Brentwood and Hanley. MetroBus #59 Shaw-Kirkwood connects at the station, comes down Brentwood Boulevard, and stops right outside the Brentwood Community Center.
If you are boarding at a station on the Lambert Airport line in Missouri, or east of Emerson Park in Illinois, you will need to change at Forest Park-Debaliviere to a Shrewsbury I-44 train. The connection is made on the same platform at Forest Park and the wait is short, seven minutes or less. On Sundays MetroLink runs every 15 minutes and the #59 bus runs about every hour.
Metro's schedules are adjusted fairly often. For the latest information, go to Metro's website, tripfinder.metrostlouis.org, which has a new, streamlined form to fill out that will give you directions and schedules for any address in the region, including little-known residential streets. For the Destination, just type "2505 S. Brentwood"; no need to specify a city, as the website is smart enough to figure it out. The coolest feature: Next to each summary schedule that TripFinder displays is a button called MAP. Click it for a complete, stop-by-stop schedule and an interactive street map for the entire route.
The price for an adult two-hour pass that allows unlimited transfers in any direction is $2.25; best value is a book of ten for $20.00. Seniors pay half. With the cost of gasoline skyrocketing and reconstruction of I-64 now in progress, MetroLink is a pleasant, economical alternative. And with Metro's revamped website, how much easier can it get?
